Ridgefield Library

Capital Campaign

The Ridgefield Library has been a vital resource since 1903. 107 years later they were operating with many deficiencies while battling a common perception that libraries are only ‘about books’ and soon obsolete. Not surprisingly, daily usage and demand for their programs was increasing. What was really needed? An updated facility to meet the growing demands of the 21st century.

Before they could reach out to the community for support, they reached out to Maida Design to create a new identity and brand image that would help present the Library with a more progressive voice. The first order was a new logo design. Next, a value/needs-based campaign titled UpSide : Down Side was developed, designed and launched. The common thread in all communications was the concept of the Library being so much more than books while touching on various deficiencies and presenting the need and plan for the future.

The result? A success. The new and improved Ridgefield Library opened it’s doors in June 2014 and participation in all areas is growing steadily.
